CityBest Late April – early May for the blossom

Hirosaki

A castle town in northern Honshu, famous for 2,600 cherry trees that bloom around Golden Week.

Hirosaki is a castle town in Aomori, at the northern end of Honshu, and its castle park is one of the most famous cherry blossom spots in Japan. Because it is so far north, the trees here usually bloom after most of the country, around the Golden Week holidays at the end of April and start of May.
