Markhus
A small hamlet on a western fjord arm, little more than a scatter of houses at the water's edge.
Markhus doesn't have a centre to speak of — a handful of houses along the fjord, well off the routes that carry most Norway trips between Bergen and the bigger fjord towns. That's the draw: nothing here is set up for tourism, and the water is exactly as quiet as it looks in photos.
