- A short drive from central Rovaniemi and Rovaniemi Airport, on the edge of the forest above the city.
Why it’s in the log
The suites here have glass walls facing the forest and the sky, built specifically so the northern lights are visible from bed during aurora season without having to get up and go outside. Rovaniemi's position almost exactly on the Arctic Circle makes that a real, not occasional, possibility across the winter months.
Outside the aurora window, the same glass walls work for the opposite effect — the near-endless daylight of the Lapland summer. Either way, the building itself does the framing; there's little need to leave the room to see the sky.
“We didn't set an alarm — the whole point is that if the lights show up, you're already watching them from the bed.”
