Why it’s in the log
Three fibreglass spheres hang suspended among the trees in temperate rainforest outside Qualicum Beach, each rigged so it sways slightly with the wind rather than sitting rigid — the sensation is closer to being on a boat than in a cabin. It's a small, handmade operation, built and still run by the couple who designed the spheres.
Space inside each sphere is tight by design — a bed, a small sitting area, a rope bridge or ladder to get in — so this suits a night or two of novelty and quiet rather than a full holiday base. Bathrooms are separate, in a shared building on the ground.
“It genuinely sways. Small movement, but enough that you remember you're in a tree and not a room.”
