Why it’s in the log
La Super-Rica Taqueria is a stand more than a restaurant — order at the window, eat at one of the handful of outdoor tables, cash only. It's been in the same spot on Milpas Street for decades, and the corn tortillas are made fresh in-house, which is most of why the line rarely gets shorter.
Julia Child was a documented regular, which the place has never bothered to advertise — there's no sign of it inside. The menu changes daily in small ways, chalked up on a board, but the grilled pork and the specials built around masa are the reliable order.
The line moves fast even when it looks long, and going a little off peak lunch hours (early, or after 1:30 pm) helps.
