Why it’s in the log
Yamo is a narrow storefront on 18th Street with four stools and no tables to speak of, run as a genuinely small operation — cash only, a short handwritten-feeling menu, no frills. It's one of the few dedicated Burmese counters in a neighborhood otherwise known for its taquerías.
The rice noodles, tossed with a mix of textures and a chili kick, are the dish to order — it's what the counter is built around, and keeping the order simple is generally the right call here rather than working through the full menu on a first visit.
There's nowhere to sit and wait, so it's a stand-outside-or-take-it-to-go kind of meal, best treated as a quick stop rather than a sit-down dinner.
