Past the beach resorts, Phuket's Old Town is Sino-Portuguese shophouses and coffee since before the tourists came.
Most of the island is resort strip, but the Old Town around Thalang Road is a different place entirely — pastel Sino-Portuguese shophouses, tin-panelled coffee shops, and a breakfast routine that predates the beaches becoming a destination.
