Kadıköy is a twenty-minute ferry from Eminönü and a different city on arrival — residential streets, a produce market that runs all day, and restaurants that don't need a tourist crowd to survive. Some of Istanbul's best kitchens have quietly moved here, into buildings with no sign on the street.
