Chonchi
A steep street of wooden houses running down to the water on Chiloé island, its 18th-century church one of sixteen UNESCO-listed Jesuit churches on the archipelago.
Chonchi's main street drops steeply from the highway down to a small waterfront, lined with wooden houses in the faded, brightly painted style common across Chiloé. Its 1754 church is one of sixteen wooden Jesuit churches on the archipelago with UNESCO World Heritage status, built in a joinery style found almost nowhere else.
