Gagliano del Capo sits near the very bottom of the Salento peninsula, a short drive from the cliffs and grottoes around Santa Maria di Leuca where the Adriatic and Ionian meet. It's a working small town rather than a resort — flat-roofed stone houses, a slow midday, and the coast a few minutes away by car.
