Bacareto da Lele is a bacaro near Piazzale Roma, at the university end of Venice, and it runs like one — cheap ombre (small glasses of wine) and simple panini, drunk and eaten standing on the fondamenta rather than at a table. It's consistently called out as the most local bacaro left in a city where that word gets stretched to cover overpriced tourist bars.
With just over 300 reviews it's stayed a genuine student and local hangout instead of turning into another San Marco-adjacent stop, helped by being a walk from where the cruise-ship and station crowds actually go.
