Why it’s in the log
Kolarbyn's huts are moss-roofed and low to the ground, built in the style of old charcoal burners' shelters from the Bergslagen mining district — no electricity, firelight and a wood stove instead. It's marketed as one of Sweden's most primitive hotels, and the description holds up: this is closer to camping with a solid roof than a lodge with rustic styling.
That trade-off is the point. There's a communal sauna and open fire nearby, but inside each hut it's just a bed and dark — a deliberate step away from the amenities most stays compete on.
