Why it’s in the log

Peekytoe Provisions is a small takeout-first seafood counter near the harbor end of Bar Harbor's Main Street — lobster rolls, fried clams, chowder, and a short market case of provisions, ordered at a window rather than a hostess stand. There's some outdoor seating, but it's built for eating on the move rather than lingering over a long meal.

Bar Harbor's Main Street strip is built almost entirely around funneling visitors up toward Acadia National Park, and most of it reads that way; this end, closer to the water, keeps more of a working-harbor feel, with lobstermen and locals in the same line as visitors.

July and August bring real crowds and a real wait; if the schedule allows it, June or September gets the same food with a fraction of the line.

Food was amazing! Lobster bisque and clam chowder were soooo good. Service was great. Cocktails could have been a bit better. A tad weak. Patio was nice and dog friendly!

Inventive fusion-like seafood pairings in comfortable atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating. Attentive and friendly waitstaff.

Absolutely delicious seafood, we’ve ordered lobster and it was very fresh. Quiet mood and lovely to have dinner, it was a bit overpriced for my opinion a the portions sizes but overall a great dinner.
