Getting there
On Thanon Pradiphat in Phaya Thai, away from the main tourist routes

Why it’s in the log

Prik-Yuak is a plain, unfussy kitchen on Thanon Pradiphat serving home-style Thai curries to a neighbourhood crowd. There's no decor to speak of and no attempt at one — the queue at lunch is the only sign anything's worth stopping for.

It sits well off the routes most visitors to Bangkok walk, in a residential stretch of Phaya Thai, which is most of the reason it's stayed this way.

Go at lunch, expect to share a table, and order whatever's coming out of the kitchen fastest — that's usually the tell for what's good that day.

The kind of place with a queue of regulars out front and nothing on the walls for visitors.
