Király Thermal Bath

Király has been in continuous use since 1565, built during the Ottoman period and small enough — a single domed octagonal pool, not a sprawling complex — that it reads as the plainest and least performative of Budapest's historic baths. Its water is piped in from the Lukács spring nearby rather than its own source.

Where Rudas and Széchenyi draw crowds for the setting as much as the soak, Király stays a working neighbourhood bath first: locals rather than tour groups, a genuinely small room rather than a palace.

Go if the scale of Széchenyi or the queues at Rudas aren't the point — this is the quieter, more intimate version of the same Ottoman-bath experience.
