District VII, the old Jewish Quarter, is where a wave of derelict lots and abandoned courtyards got filled with mismatched furniture, string lights and a bar instead of a wrecking ball, starting around 2002. Two decades on it's Budapest's signature export, copied everywhere and matched nowhere.
