Every "Bourdain's favourite restaurants" list on the internet mixes real visits with guesses and outright wrong ones. This one doesn't: each of these ten was checked against the actual episode, article or interview where Anthony Bourdain named or ate at it, not just a blog post repeating a rumour. (Two came up short on that test and aren't here: a Minneapolis restaurant that opened three years after he died, and a "Paris" restaurant that was actually his own kitchen in Manhattan.)

From a Hanoi noodle shop that hosted a sitting U.S. president to a Kansas City barbecue joint run out of a gas station, the range says more about how Bourdain actually ate than any single "best of" ranking could.
