Why it’s in the log
Kőleves Kert — "Stone Soup Garden" — trades the DJ sets and crowd-scale of its Kazinczy utca neighbours for deckchairs, string lights and hammocks strung under mulberry trees. Red tin tables and mismatched iron chairs keep the classic ruin-bar look; the pace is the part that's different.
It only opens for the warmer months, when the courtyard behind the attached Kőleves restaurant turns into an outdoor bar — weekday lunches run specials from the kitchen next door, and evenings settle into the kind of unhurried drinking that Szimpla's crowds don't really allow anymore.
Go on a weekday afternoon for the lunch special and a quiet hammock — evenings pick up but rarely reach the size of the bigger venues nearby.
