Getting there
A short walk from the Santo Domingo end of Centro, on Porfirio Díaz

Why it’s in the log

Sobrio doesn't announce itself — the entrance is a modest door on Porfirio Díaz with nothing to mark it as a bar from the street. Inside it's a proper speakeasy: dim, small, built around a serious mezcal list rather than a cocktail menu trying to be clever.

The pour list leans toward small-batch producers rather than the bottles you'd find in every tourist bar in Centro, and the staff will talk you through what you're drinking if you ask. It's the kind of place that rewards going with someone who already knows it, or being willing to ask a stranger at the bar next to you.

Go later in the evening once the dinner crowd has moved on — it's a small room, and it fills.

You'd walk past the door without noticing it's a bar at all, which is exactly the point.
