Riad Al Moussika occupies a 19th-century mansion that once belonged to a Marrakech aristocrat, restored into a small riad built around the kind of open courtyard the style is named for — a garden and pool at the center, rooms opening onto it rather than a corridor. It's a handful of rooms, not a hotel with a riad's decor grafted on.
The restoration keeps the original scale and materials rather than modernizing the building into something it wasn't, which is the difference between this and a lot of newer riad conversions in the medina. Reviews are few but consistent on the same point: it feels like a private house that happens to take guests, not a hotel built to look like one.
Being inside Riad Zitoun means no car access to the door — bags get carried the last stretch on foot or by porter, standard for anywhere in the medina proper.
